Physical Therapy

Whether you’re looking for relief from pain or working to maintain a healthy lifestyle, physical therapy can help you get to where you want to go.

Physical therapy treats a wide range of conditions, disorders and injuries. Our goal is to work with you to help you achieve your personal goals.

Physical therapy involves the evaluation and treatment of physical disabilities. It is designed to improve physical strength, range of motion, daily living activities and functional ability. Treatment begins with a comprehensive evaluation, so our therapists can develop a personalized treatment program for you. Throughout your recovery, you will have a dedicated therapist who is focused on one goal: helping you reach your goals.

Treatments may include a variety of exercises and activities customized to your individual needs, including: manual therapy (hands-on mobilization of soft tissue), gait training, therapeutic exercise (range of motion, strengthening) traction, ultrasound, electrical stimulation and other pain relieving modalities.

Whether you want to get back to doing an activity you enjoy, like playing guitar, or simply want to be able to get through the day without experiencing pain, our customized occupational therapy program will help you reach your goals.

In its simplest terms, occupational therapy practitioners help people across the lifespan participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities (occupations). Common occupational therapy interventions include helping children with disabilities to participate fully in school and social situations, helping people recovering from injury to regain skills, and providing supports for older adults experiencing physical and cognitive changes. Occupational therapy services typically include:

  • An individualized evaluation, during which the client/family and occupational therapist determine the person’s goals
  • Customized intervention to improve the person’s ability to perform daily activities and reach the goals
  • An outcomes evaluation to ensure that the goals are being met and/or make changes to the intervention plan

  • Occupational therapy services may include comprehensive evaluations of the client’s home and other environments (e.g., workplace, school), recommendations for adaptive equipment and training in its use, and guidance and education for family members and caregivers. Occupational therapy practitioners have a holistic perspective, in which the focus is on adapting the environment to fit the person, and the person is an integral part of the therapy team.
